On The Importance Of Wikipedia
Interesting note by Carl Etnier (VT Commons) mulling the difference between the Encyclopedia Britannica's take on food during the WWI and WWII (the government did all) and Wikipedia's take (the people planted Victory Gardens and raised nearly half of their own food). This emphasizes the importance of Wikipedia in what David Korten calls "The Great Turning" from empire (power by a few and imposed from above) to community (power remains disbursed). And BTW, great interview with him on Democracy Now yesterday on his new book “Agenda for a New Economy: From Phantom Wealth to Real Wealth”.
