Believe it or not, I got an email recently that said this:
Rent-a-hen: Want to try having chickens for the summer, but not winter? We'll take them back in the fall... $3 each.
So I've got 3 Speckled Sussex year old hens on loan for the summer (my winter housing didn't work out).
(The same day I brought them home, I got my Backyard Poultry magazine, with an article on a profitable business starting poultry for the backyard chicken boom. Great idea!)
