Repurposing Malls

Wow! I just stumbled on quirky cult: those fascinated with dead malls! I think I'm a member. Widipedia says a "dead mall" is "a shopping mall with a high vacancy rate or a low consumer traffic level, or that is dated or deteriorating in some manner." I'm looking for the day when dead malls are totally dead malls and are listed on the website with their name. Suppose the mall building itself gets foreclosed and put up for sale for next to nothing. EcoVillagers move in, make some necessary renovations (farm and photovoltaics on the roof, windows on the south, parking lots torn up and bioremediated and stewn with wind turbines and cows), and poof! we have a new and compact village! Some imaginative types have already issued a challenge to envision a mall repurposing. Nice, but we can do better!
